Actively follow play up and down the field. (very important for offside calls)

Work as a team with your partner referee, remember lead ref and trail ref responsibilities.

Use your whistle to indicate calls.

Make all calls confidently and aloud for most to hear.

Indicate with voice and proper hand signal for possession and direction of all throw-ins.

  • Do not become complacent, timely call are important for the flow of the game

Indicate with voice and proper hand signal for all goal kicks.

Blow whistle upon a goal being scored and hand signal to the center line for a kick off.

Promptly and clearly announce offside infraction and proper penalty kick location.

For indirect and direct kicks, clearly announce infraction, and signal type of penalty kick (direct or indirect).  Walk off 10 or 8-yard setback if necessary.

Use loud multiple whistle blows for end of quarters, halves and games.
